MANILA – Jasmine Curtis-Smith does not mind being compared with her sister, Kapamilya star Anne Curtis, now that she is beginning to make her own mark in the local entertainment industry.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Jasmine said she is happy to have been given the opportunity to step out of her sister's shadow.
“I’m not afraid to say that because I'm different from her. I'm just glad that people are noticing that and I am given the opportunity to show that. Regardless if that happens or not, I feel it so yun ang pinakaimportante,” she said.
“I am so thankful to god kasi hindi nawawala yung spark ko sa mga tao. They are still interested, they are still contacting us for projects and endorsements so praise God, tuluy-tuloy siya,” she added.
Jasmine said she and Anne always have each other’s backs, adding that they do not mind people pitting them against each other.
“We listen to each other. We comfort each other at home. We don’t actually say much when we comfort each other. We just show that we are there,” she said.
Meanwhile, Jasmine said she is very proud of her sister who gets to play a mermaid in ABS-CBN’s fantasy series “Dyesebel.”
“I’m very proud of her. It’s every girl’s dream. She’s played a mermaid before but now her character is solely a mermaid. Happy ako. Everyone’s excited and it’s creating such a buzz so congrats ate,” she said.
Asked if she also wants to play a mermaid someday, Jasmine said: “Hindi kasi ako marunong lumangoy so sa kanya na. Sa kanya lang yun talaga.”
