MANILA - Actress Iza Calzado stressed that she won't be replacing actress Anne Curtis as one of the hosts of ABS-CBN's noontime show "It's Showtime."
Aside from "It's Showtime," Curtis is also busy working on the upcoming fantasy series"Dyesebel."
"Hindi siya (aalis). Papalit ako while she's not here. I'm just an extra host, I'm not replacing anybody," Calzado said in an interview on Tuesday.
"It's just that madami ang host na mawawala, hindi nga lang sabay-sabay. Kumbaga si Vice (Ganda) ngayon ay 15 days (mawawala), tapos si Anne magiging busy sa 'Dyesebel,' tapos si K (Karylle) ikakasal. So parang at some point you will need somebody else to feel it for the hosting job, yun ang aking papel ngayon," she added.
Comedian Vice Ganda left last week to do a concert in the United States, while singer Karylle is set to walk down the aisle this month for her wedding to Sponge Cola vocalist Yael Yuzon.
Calzado, who is also hosting the primetime series "The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition," said she's just happy to be a guest co-host on the noontime show.
"It's a good experience for me and siyempre tuwang tuwa ako kasi finally magkakaroon ako ng pagkakataon na maipakita ang relaxed side ko," she said about her stint on "It's Showtime."
"Kasi kapag mapapanood ako ng tao laging seryoso, either drama or kahit sa 'Biggest Loser' ay seryoso ang tono ko kasi you are a person of authority. So masaya ako na nabigyan ako dito ng pagkakataon na maging kenkoy at kwela, makulit kasi ganoon talaga ako sa tunay na buhay," said Calzado, who was also part of the blockbuster hit "Starting Over Again" with Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga.
