MANILA - Self-confessed "non-singer" Anne Curtis usually doesn't back down from a challenge to belt out notes, but the actress laughed when she was dared to sing following a performance from Sheryn Regis.
The former "Star in a Million" finalist was among the guest judges Monday on "It's Showtime," which Curtis co-hosts. As a treat for the audience, Regis performed a "sample" of Wendy Moten's "Come On In Out of the Rain."
A visibly impressed Curtis was then challenged by co-host Iza Calzado to give her own "sample," but the actress protested. "Talagang after ni Sheryn?"
Curtis nonetheless obliged, although rather shyly, singing a few lines from Alicia Key's "If I Ain't Got You."
The 29-year-old actress, whose debut album achieved platinum status in sales in 2011, is set to headline a second concert series, dubbed "The Forbidden Concert: Annekapal" in May.
Like her previous concert tour, "Round 2: Annekapal" will coincide with the release of a new CD, according to Curtis, who has so far recorded five tracks for "The Forbidden Album."
