MANILA – Young actor Daniel Padilla said he is in no position to reject his uncle Rustom Padilla, who is now more known BB Gandanghari after revealing his sexual preference in 2006.
In an interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday, Padilla said he respects Gadanghari’s choice in life for as long as it makes him happy.
“Ako po kasi hindi naman po talaga ako dati close sa Padilla pero ngayon habang tumatanda, nagiging close na po ako. Nakikita ko naman kay Tito Rustom, masaya po siya eh. Wala po tayong masasabi kasi masaya si Tito Rustom. Kaya masaya na po ako para sa kanya,” he said.
And just like everyone else, Padilla said no one should judge Gandanghari for his personal choice.
“Wala po akong karapatan para hindi tanggapin si Tita Bb… Ang importante, masaya siya, masaya ako,” he said.
In a separate live interview on Sunday, Gandanghari said he feels sad that some of his siblings can’t acknowledge that their brother is now “dead.”
"'Yung acceptance ['yung pinakamasakit]. Kasi we are social people, we need to be accepted. It’s a need. So when you feel rejected, masakit. Tapos pamilya mo so para kang sinasaksak ng paulit-ulit. And yet kailangan mo pa rin maintindihan, otherwise, it’s very devastating,” he said.
But while he understands the reactions of his siblings, Gandanghari conceded that he really cannot do anything about it.
Despite this, Gandanghari is still hoping that things will eventually turn out to be okay.
