For the first time since their alleged separation, former VJ and television host KC Montero has spoken up about the nasty rumors thrown at wife Geneva Cruz.

Montero, first of all, vehemently denied that the two had a serious fight that led to a separation.

He added that Cruz’s decision to continue her singing career in the Philippines, which rumormongers cited as the cause of their alleged separation, had his blessings.

“I understand and she’s been the breadwinner and she's been a performer since 12 years old, so, it’s hard for her to quit everything and stop what she’s doing and become a housewife,” Montero said.

In her previous interview, Cruz admitted that she tried to give up her career in the Philippines when they got married. After a year of being a housewife, however, she realized that she “could not live without my music.”

Montero also rebuffed reports that his parents got irked because Cruz had purportedly abandoned Heaven, her son with drummer Paco Arespacochaga, in the US.

“My parents are ecstatic to have Heaven in the house. They love him like he is almost their own son. Geneva cannot leave her son anywhere… she comes back to the US, to the Philippines. We cannot bring Heaven back and forth siyempre. He has to go to school,” Montero said.
An issue that bothered the Monteros the most, however, was her alleged suicide attempt, according to him.

“Whether I’m here or not, she’s gonna do probably better without me. She’s very, very strong and to hear that people say that she committed suicide that bothered me and it bothers her as well,” he said.

The Monteros moved to Seattle in the United States when they got married five years ago.  Montero, who now works as a real estate agent, is in Manila to attend the christening of his brother’s, Troy Montero, son. The Buzz
