MANILA – Coco Martin admitted the tag “King of Teleseryes” reminds him of all the things he has been through before getting to where he is today.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Tuesday, Martin said the title being attributed to him feels overwhelming because it somehow sums up his sacrifices and hard work.

Hoping not to disappoint anyone, Martin said he will always try his best to live up to the big responsibility the “King of Teleserye” tag entails.

Meanwhile, the actor revealed that he missed doing a soap opera since his last Kapamilya show “Juan dela Cruz” was a fantasy series.

Martin said it feels good that the ABS-CBN management gives him the opportunity to go back to his core. This comes after his earlier announcement that he will take some time off after “Juan dela Cruz.”

Martin is set to star in “Ikaw Lamang,” which will also be headlined by Kim Chiu, Julia Montes and Jake Cuenca. The highly anticipated period drama will also feature Ronaldo Valdez, Tirso Cruz III, Cherie Gil, Cherry Pie Picache, and John Estrada.

Martin said he is excited for the viewers to see this new show, which will premiere on March 10.
