MANILA, Philippines - ABS-CBN contract star Angel Locsin and actor Richard Gutierrez saw each other again on Friday, over 2 years after the actress decided to be part of the Kapamilya network.
Locsin saw her former screen partner in Malacañang on Friday (February 26) as she received an award for her performance in the hit television series "Lobo," while Gutierrez was there as a spokesman of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
When the former love team partners came face to face, they both kissed each other on the cheeks and hugged.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Locsin said that she was really happy to see Gutierrez, who was her leading man in the hit series " Mulawin."
"Click pa rin kami, iba ang tandem naming talaga," Locsin said.
Aside from the television series, Gutierrez was also Locsin's partner in some of her films.
Gutierrez said he has really missed Locsin, and is very proud of the actress's latest achievement.
"I'm very happy for Angel, yan ang first show niya sa ABS-CBN at nagdala agad ng karangalan," Gutierrez said.
Last year, Locsin was nominated in the Best Actress category of the 37th International Emmy Awards.
Though she failed to take home the award, Locsin said she was happy and proud since she was able to represent her country and the Kapamilya network.
Locsin is the second Filipina to be nominated under the best actress category in the competition. In 1989, Tessie Tomas was nominated for her role as former First Lady Imelda Marcos in “A Dangerous Life.”
Aside from Locsin, the NCCA also honored young singer Rhap Salazar for winning the 2009 World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in the United States last year.
"The Young Voice of Negros," the vocal group who won the WCOPA Junior Grand Champion Group Vocalists of the World, also received an award from the NCCA.
