MANILA – Vice Ganda said he saw himself in the characters of Toni Gonzaga, Piolo Pascual and Iza Calzado while he was watching the three’s blockbuster movie, “Starting Over Again.”
Vice Ganda held a block screening of the Star Cinema film at the Trinoma mall on Sunday to make up for being absent during its premiere night.
Makakalimutan mong pelikula yung pinapanood mo. Parang binalikan mo lang yung storya ng buhay mo nung nakaraan,” he said.
Calling the movie “very realistic,” the “It’s Showtime” host commends Gonzaga for portraying a role that is relatable to everyone.
Yung eksena nila ni Iza sa kitchen, sobrang ganda,” he said.
Aside from how the story was told, Vice Ganda also lauded the ending of “Starting Over Again.”
Meron palang mga ganun,” he said.
Gonzaga, who graced the block screening, expressed her gratitude to Vice Ganda for supporting her movie.
First time na ginawa niya. Pwede naman manood, pero bonggang bonggang pambawi ang ginawa niya, grabe na-touch ako,” she said.
“I love you [Vice Ganda. It’s] very rare to find a true friend like you in this business. I wish you more success. Thank you,” she added.
As of Sunday, “Starting Over Again” has already earned P300 million since it was first released last February 12.
The movie now holds the personal box office records of Pascual, Gonzaga, Calzado and its director, Olivia M. Lamasan.
