MANILA -- The indie film "Rekorder" starring Ronnie Quizon won in the 31st Festival International du Premier Film in France, where it bagged the Special Jury Prize, as well as the award for best music.

"It's the first feature film that I produced. Ang saya ng pakiramdam kasi ang production namin very young. Ang saya din kasi hindi ito supported ng big companies. So ang saya ng feeling kasi pinaghirapan talaga," the film's producer Pamela Reyes,Reyes told on Monday.

Directed by Mikhail Red, "Rekorder" tells the story of Maven (played by Quizon), a retired cameraman turned movie pirate.

Joining Quizon were Mike Lloren, Buboy Villar, Earl Ignacio, Suzette Ranillo, Lowell Conales, Archie Adamos, Abe Pagtama and Belinda Mariano.

"Rekorder" was shown during the 2013 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival, as well as in special screenings at the University of the Philippines.

Reyes admitted that they are hoping that the film will be given a commercial release.

"We are very small production. I hope they can share with everyone so we can distribute it. I really thank everyone in 'Rekorder' because it's very hard to make," she said.
