'Starting Over Again' earns P300M in 12 days
MANILA – The Star Cinema movie “Starting Over Again” has now crossed the P300-million mark just 12 days after it opened in theaters nationwide.
The figure was confirmed by one of the movie’s stars, Iza Calzado, on “Buzz ng Bayan” on Sunday.
Now into its second blockbuster week, Calzado thanked everyone who saw the movie, as well as those who are still planning to see the film.
Calzado said she feels fortunate to be part of the film because she considers it an honor to be directed by award-winner Olivia M. Lamasan.
“My role is not really lengthy. Pero inalaagan din ako ni Inang (Lamasan). Nung pinanood namin, maganda yung balanse ng pelikula. And maganda yung pagtanggap ng mga tao, so thank you,” she said.
The first big screen team-up of Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga, "Starting Over Again" tells the story of college professor Marco (Pascual), whose girlfriend, Ginny (Gonzaga), left him without saying goodbye or giving an explanation.
Four years after the breakup, the two cross paths again at a time when Marco is already happy with a new partner, Patty (Calzado).
Forced to work with Marco, who has also successfully pursued his passion to become a chef, Ginny starts to regret leaving him and tries to win him back.
The release of "Starting Over Again" is part of the continuing 20th anniversary celebration of Star Cinema.
