MANILA - Singer Zsa Zsa Padilla posted a cryptic message on Instagram on Thursday following reports of a rift between her daughter Karylle and comedian Vice Ganda.
Padilla's post had the Bible passage from Proverbs 17:9, which read: "He who covers over an offense promotes love, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends."
Her post had this caption: "I am troubled by all the news I have been hearing. And just like you, I turn to Jesus for answers. I went on line to look for a verse to give me some courage and this is what I found. Thank you, Jesus. Your love overflows."
Padilla's Instagram followers and other netizens believe that the singer's statement has something to do with the Karylle and Vice Ganda's rift.
In an interview on "Aquino & Abunda Tonight" on Thursday, Vice Ganda once again confirmed that he is not on good terms with Karylle.
Vice Ganda said the rift stemmed from the alleged disapproval of singer Yael Yuzon of his "love team" with Karylle, who is his fiancee.
The comedian said this worsened when he learned from "It's Showtime" director Bobet Vidanes that the actress has been trying to avoid being paired with him due to Yuzon's reaction.
"Sinabi ni Karylle kay Direk Bobet na sinabi sa akin ni Direk Bobet, 'Umiiwas lang ako kasi si Yael, nao-offend na. Anytime, puwede nang pumutok at susugod na.' Susugod na dahil sa dinami-rami raw ng puwedeng i-pair up sa dyowa na, sa bading pa," Vice Ganda said.
The comedian said Karylle has already apologized and sent him flowers.
