Jodi's film 'Aparisyon' bags intl nominations

MANILA, Philippines – The independent film “Aparisyon,” starring Kapamilya star Jodi Sta. Maria as a nun, will be competing at the 15th Deauville Asian Film Festival and the Asean International Film Festival.

The lead star of the hit series "Be Careful With My Heart" announced the good news on her official Twitter account.

"'Aparisyon' is up for Best Picture at the Deauville France Film fest and Asean Filmfest both this March. Support our theatrical run March 20," Sta. Maria tweeted.

Directed by Vincent Sandoval, “Aparisyon,” about a nun balancing her religious and political beliefs, was also nominated in the News Current category at the recent Pusan International Film Festival.

It also competed for the the Dragons & Tiger award at the Vancouver fest.

An entry to last year's CInemalaya Independent FIlm Festival, "Aparisyon" bagged the NETPAC Award 2012 at Hawaii International Film Festival last October.
