MANILA – Jinkee Pacquiao took to Instagram to express her sentiments amid the criticisms her husband, Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao, is receiving.
On Tuesday, Jinkee posted a picture of herself where she is alone in a room seated on a couch while holding her phone.
In the caption, Jinkee wrote, unedited: “Haters gonna hate, but there is no room for negativity in my life and my family. Godbless everyone!”
She also used the hashtags “loveoneanother” and “ijustprayforeverything.”
Her post garnered close to 3,000 “likes” and more than 600 comments, with netizens expressing their stand on the issue.
In a video posted by Bilang Pilipino on Monday, Pacquiao, an evangelical Christian, said: "Mas mabuti pa 'yung hayop, marunong kumilala kung lalaki-lalaki o babae-babae. Kung lalaki sa lalaki o babae sa babae, e mas masahol pa sa hayop ang tao."
He has since apologized for comparing the LGBT community to animals.
"I still stand on my belief that I'm against same sex marriage because of what the Bible says, but I'm not condemning LGBT. I love you all with the love of the Lord. God Bless you all and I'm praying for you."
