MANILA -- "Dolce Amore" is off to a good start as proven by the high ratings of its premiere episode Monday.
According to data released by Kantar Media, "Dolce Amore" registered a national TV rating of 35.6%, while its closest rival, GMA 7’s "That’s My Amboy," only scored 15.8%.
Apart from the ratings, the episode's official hashtag #DolceAmoreSweetBeginning also topped worldwide trends on Twitter while it was airing.
"Dolce Amore" stars the hit love team of Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil. It revolves around the story of two orphans, Serena (Soberano) and Simon (Gil), who live worlds apart until the day they meet.

Meanwhile, the emotionally intense finale of "Pangako Sa 'Yo," which concluded with a blind Claudia (Angelica Panganiban) apologizing profusely to Amor (Jodi Sta. Maria) and her family for her sins, broke its own ratings record.
The series, topbilled by Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, grabbed 44.5% of the total television viewing audience in the country last Friday, topping its previous high of 42.7% for its February 9 episode.
It was only the second most watched program of the day, however. Coco Martin's "Ang Probinsyano" managed to receive 43.5% last Friday, continuing its dominating win streak over rival program, GMA-7's "Little Nanay."
"On the Wings of Love," another ABS-CBN program, also maintained a healthy lead over its rival. The February 12 episode of the series starring James Reid and Nadine Lustre got 21.6%.
