MANILA, Philippines -- Bea Alonzo said Angelica Panganiban, the current girlfriend of her long-time leading man John Lloyd Cruz, apologized for passing up watching their recent film supposedly due to a number of romantic scenes.

At the sidelines of a press event held Wednesday, Alonzo was asked on the earlier admission of Panganiban that she cannot bear to watch romantic scenes involving Cruz and any of his leading ladies.
"I don’t think nagseselos siya. Baka nagkamali lang. Sinabi niya [hindi niya kaya panoorin] kasi tinanong ko nung nakapanood siya ng 'The Mistress,'" Alonzo was quoted as saying by the entertainment news site Push.com.ph.
"Sabi niya, ‘I’m sorry. Alam mo naman lahat ng pelikula mo pinapanood ko, pwera lang this time.’ Oo sinabi niya sa akin, kasi inusig ko talaga siya bakit hindi pa siya nanonood," Alonzo said.
Leading up to the theatrical release of "The Mistress" in September last year, rumors of a blooming relationship between Cruz and Panganiban had just started to surface.
Directed by Olivia Lamasan, "The Mistress" was billed as a film to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the "love team" of Cruz and Alonzo.
For her part, Alonzo, who is in a two-year relationship with actor Zanjoe Marudo, has learned to deal with "sensitive" scenes showing her partner with another woman onscreen.
“Siguro kasi malaking factor na malaki yung tiwala ko sa kanya. And whenever may gagawin siyang ganon kadelikadong eksena, he would always tell me beforehand na parang ganito gagawin ko eh. And we talk about those things as adults. Parang wala, I don’t see Zanjoe there [in the movie]. I see the character. And this is also my job. So para namang, hindi ko naman mairereklamo 'yun because I do the same things, minsan worse pa,” she said.
