MANILA - "It's Showtime" co-host Vice Ganda has no plans of going public with his relationship anytime soon.
He told ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe on Thursday that he was planning to spend Valentine's Day at home with his boyfriend.
"House arrest, house date, ganoon," he said, laughing.
While he is frequently teased about the topic on his TV programs, Vice Ganda has yet to identify his boyfriend and share details about their relationship.
"Hindi naman kami nakakalabas, 'di ba? Pareho kami, choice namin [na hindi isapubliko] para hindi maabala," the comedian said, adding that his partner's family is among his considerations.
"Ako, okay lang, kasi sanay na ako sa abala. Eh siya atsaka 'yung [pamilya niya], ayokong maabala sila, na makalkal kung sino sila, ano sila, saan sila nakatira, kung anong klaseng... Ayoko ng gano'n, gusto ko silang protektahan.
"And it works. Kaya ang tagal na kasi gano'n 'yung setup," he said.
Among the names linked in jest to Vice Ganda are GlobalPort players RR Garcia and Terrence Romeo, who were both from the Far Eastern University where the comedian got a bachelor's degree.
Vice Ganda, however, has been consistent in refusing to identify who his boyfriend is.
