MANILA - A day after a CCTV footage showing Cedric Lee kissing Deniece Cornejo was released, comedian Vice Ganda once again took to "It's Showtime" to joke about the mauling incident involving co-host Vhong Navarro.
In the opening segment of the noontime program on Friday, the co-hosts led by Billy Crawford addressed Navarro, saying they miss him especially as they celebrated Valentine's Day.
"Gusto lang namin sabihin, Vhong, we miss you so much," Crawford said, after their respective romance-themed performances. "We love you so much and we wish that you were here with us -- 'yung kakulitan mo."
"Basta, Vhong, kahit anong mangyari, we are here for you. We are praying for you and we love you no matter what," he said.
In a candid moment met with cheers from the audience, Vice Ganda added, "And, Vhong, pag okay ka na, kita tayo. Mag-kiss tayo sa elevator."
The comment prompted the laughing co-hosts to distance themselves from Vice Ganda, who has repeatedly made Cornejo and the January 22 incident a subject of his jokes on the program.
"What is so wrong with that kiss? It's a sweet kiss sa elevator!" he said.
Vice Ganda was alluding to the contents of a newly released CCTV footage by the National Bureau of Investigation, which shows Lee kissing Cornejo inside an elevator only hours after the attack on Navarro.
Navarro claimed that he was set up by Cornejo for an extortion attempt allegedly led by Lee. The actor said he was blindfolded, tied up and attacked by "six to seven men" inside Cornejo's condominium unit in Taguig. He also alleged that his private parts were recorded on video, which Lee has denied.
Cornejo, in her rape complaint filed against Navarro last January 29, alleged that she was "rescued" by Lee's group from being sexually assaulted by the actor, which supposedly led to the mauling.
A second hearing on the cases filed by both parties is set on February 21.
