Piolo admits to being 'jaded' in doing rom-coms
MANILA - Actor Piolo Pascual said that there came a time when he got tired of doing romantic comedy films.
In his guesting on "Aquino & Abunda Tonight," Pascual said he had a hard time doing his popular confrontation scene with Toni Gonzaga in "Starting Over Again," which earned P25 million on its first day.
Pascual said he reached the point when he was "jaded" in doing romantic comedies and wanted to do something different.
"I always wanted to do something out of the box. Kasi for a time parang I was jaded in doing rom-coms and everything," he said.
"Sabi ko, 'Inang, I lost my passion. I don't know how to do it anymore,'" added Pascual, referring to director Olivia Lamasan.
Seeing how his movie turned out, Pascual said he is happy that many people have expressed their support for "Starting Over Again."
"All my movies for so many years, parang not doing so good. This time for this movie to make it big in the box office parang... Thank you, seriously," he said.
Given this, he said he is now ready to do another rom-com. "Yeah, yeah, oo naman," he said.
"Starting Over Again" is part of Star Cinema's 20th anniversary celebration.
