At the sidelines of filming for the top-rating "kilig-serye" on Wednesday, the 30-year-old actress hinted scenes between Sir Chief (Yap) and Maya (Sta. Maria) that will be shown in the soap's Valentine's Day episode.
"Actually today excited kami doon sa isu-shoot kasi magiging part siya ng aming Valentine's Day episode. So abangan natin kung meron nang mangyayaring first kiss or first date kay Sir Chief at Maya. Kinikilig ako," she told ABS-CBN News.
Yap, however, said the airing of the episode won't be in time for February 14.
Asked if they had anticipated the "kilig" situations to be a big hit among viewers of "Be Careful With My Heart," Sta. Maria shared her enthusiasm for her character's blooming relationship with Sir Chief.
"Ito nga, kinukwento ko palang kinikilig na ako para kay Maya and Sir Chief, kasi syempre naging part kami ng journey nila bilang kami 'yung gumaganap sa mga role nila," she said.
For his part, Yap said, "We were expecting na steady lang 'yung kwento nila. Eh biglang may small things pala that can make people feel the kilig na nararamdaman din namin pag nababasa 'yung script."
First aired in July last year, "Be Careful With My Heart" tells the story of aspiring flight attendant Maya, who leaves the province for Manila to pursue her dreams.
Her plan takes a detour when she becomes the maid of the family of single dad and businessman Richard Lim (Yap), whom she later develops romantic feelings.
"Dati nga 'di ba, nakapaka-one way palang nung relationship ni Maya at ni Sir Chief, kumbaga may kilig na," Sta. Maria said. "What more ngayon na parang nare-reciprocate na kahit papaano."
The series is constantly among the top 5 most watched TV programs nationwide.
