MANILA, Philippines – Actress Heart Evangelista has already received an early birthday gift from boyfriend, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero.
Fresh from their trip abroad, Evangelista told ABS-CBN News on Tuesday that their trip to the United States together was already the senator’s birthday present to her.
Evangelista turns 28 on February 14, Valentine's Day.
“It was very good. Kasi magbi-birthday na ako so iyon ang gift niya sa akin. Gusto ko makasama niya ‘yung mga kapatid ko sa States kaya pumunta kami doon sa San Francisco,” she said.
The vacation, however, had to be cut short because Escudero had to return to the country for the start of the campaign period for the upcoming elections.
The senator, meanwhile, only has one thing to say to those spreading rumors that he and Evangelista will split up once the May polls are over, saying they are just using each other for publicity.
“Kung sino man siya sana makilala ko siya,” he said.
Despite this, Escudero reiterated that he and Evangelista are not going to wed anytime soon.
“Kung meron mang [kaslaan], hayaan mong siya ang unang makaalam at hindi kayo. Hindi naman yata tamang una pa kayong makaalam,” he said.
Escudero said the public will just be informed about it if ever they really decide to get married.
“Hindi naman namin ipinagmalaki at ipinagmayabang pero hindi rin namin itinatago at hindi kami nagsisinungaling sa kung anong meron at wala kami,” he said.
And now that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, the celebrity couple was asked what their gifts for each other would be.
“Wala pa eh. Hindi pa naibibigay eh. Kapag naibigay na [sasabihin ko sa inyo]. Ewan ko sa kanya [kung meron na siya] basta ako meron na. 'Yun nga ang maganda, tipid kasi [birthday gift at Valentine’s gift] sama-sama na, isa na lang,” said Escudero.
As for Evangelista, she said: “Actually ako hindi ko pa nabibili. Mamaya ko pa bibilihin.”
