MANILA - Many Filipinos were glued to their television sets to watch a pair of nimble young dancers from Canada become the first ever grand champion of "Dance Kids."
According to Kantar Media, the Saturday live episode of the Kapamilya talent contest grabbed 35.9 percent of the nationwide audience share, while its finale received 34.6 percent.

On Sunday, Lucky Aces, composed of Filipino-Canadian dancers Reyond "Lucky" Ancheta and Andree Camille "AC" Bonifacio, was proclaimed the first ever winner of "Dance Kids."
The fleet-flooted duo won P2 million, a house and lot, a trip with the family to Hong Kong Disneyland, a shopping spree worth P300,000, and a Star Magic contract.
Meanwhile, "Ang Probinsyano," helmed by actor Coco Martin, continued to rule the primetime block garnering 43.2 percent and 45.8 percent for its Friday and Monday episode, respectively.
The 2015 remake of "Pangako Sa 'Yo," for its part, was the second most watched program during the same time period. The series, which stars Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, is set to conclude this week.
