Freddie Aguilar, teen wife planning to have baby
MANILA - The 17-year-old wife of "Anak" hitmaker Freddie Aguilar said she is looking forward to building a family with the singer, but only after she finishes her studies.
Speaking with ABS-CBN News, the couple said having a baby is not a far-off possibility. Aguilar noted, however, that they are prioritizing his wife's education.
"Napag-usapan namin 'yong pagkakaroon ng baby," said Aguilar, who has six children from his past relationships.
Aguilar and his then 16-year-old girlfriend were married in Islamic rites in Maguindanao last November 22, a week before her birthday. At the time, the couple had been facing criticisms over their relationship, which the singer admitted in October.
A lawyer, who claimed to be a "concerned citizen," filed a qualified seduction case against Aguilar a week after his admission of the affair.
"Kailangan kong sagutin kahit walang merito 'yung demanda," Aguilar told ABS-CBN News.
Aguilar's wife recalled the controversy surrounding their relationship last year, saying she cried repeatedly over the hurtful words used to describe her and her then-boyfriend.
Over two months since they got married, Aguilar's wife said among her realizations about their relationship is that she becomes emotional whenever she does not see her husband for a long time.
Relating her recent visit to her parents, who are based in Mindoro, Aguilar's wife said, "Hindi ko kaya na wala siya sa tabi ko.
