Xian ready to try other acting genres

MANILA – Following the success of his second big screen team-up with Kim Chiu, is Xian Lim ready to try other movie genres such as sexy flicks?

"Maybe not now. But why not? Maybe in time, but not now," he told entertainment site Pep.ph.

“I’m not going to close any doors, I’m not against anything. But I always think, not now. I always take one step at a time. But ‘di ba, why not?” he said.

As of now, Lim said he is just grateful that people are still lining up to see his movie with Chiu, “Bride for Rent.”

“Siyempre nagpapasalamat kami sa lahat ng tao, kasi they supported, they watched over and over the movie,” he said.

Asked why “Bride for Rent” became a big hit, Lim said: “It’s because we’re just comfortable with each other and game na game kami. And we really enjoyed. Nakakatuwa yung material kasi parang tailored-fit for us.”

As of the latest figures released by Star Cinema, the movie has already breached the P300-million mark.

It is also reportedly doing well in the United States and Canada where it is being shown in selected theaters. Star Cinema said "Bride for Rent" has now earned $433,000 (P19.6 million) from 47 cinemas in the US and Canada, where it opened last January 31.
