MANILA - ABS-CBN clinched 12 spots on the list of the 15 most-watched programs across the country in January, according to Kantar Media, making it the No. 1 TV station nationwide in the first month of 2014.

The Kapamilya network registered an average national audience share of 44%, or 12 points higher than GMA-7's 32%. TV5 placed a distant third with 10%.

Kantar Media, a multinational market research group, uses a nationwide panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes, representing 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population.

ABS-CBN also maintained its lead in key territories, including Balance Luzon (all areas in Luzon outside Mega Manila), where it registered an average audience share of 45% compared to GMA-7's 36%.

The same ranking was seen in Visayas and Mindanao, where ABS-CBN scored 58% and 57%, respectively. In comparison, GMA-7 only registered 23% and 22%, respectively, in the same areas.

With its Primetime Bida line-up, ABS-CBN also continued to rule primetime viewership (6 p.m. to 12 midnight) in January with an average audience share of 48%, or a 16-point lead against GMA-7's 32%.
