According to the latest data of multinational market research group Kantar Media, the Kapamilya network registered an average of 40% in nationwide audience share last month, while its nearest competitor GMA-7 trailed at 33%.
ABS-CBN's audience share lead is reflected in the winning streak of "Primetime Bida," the block of Kapamilya offerings that air between 6 p.m. and midnight on weekdays.
In January, ABS-CBN primetime programs averaged a 44% nationwide viewership, posting a 13-point lead over those aired on GMA-7.
One of the latest additions to Primetime Bida, "Kahit Konting Pagtingin," already ranked ninth in the list of most watched programs in the country last month, with an average nationwide rating of 24.2%. The Angeline Quinto-starrer aired its pilot episode on January 28, replacing the fantasy series "Aryana."
After more than eight months on air, "Aryana" ended on a high note in terms of national audience share on January 25. Its episodes aired throughout January averaged 26.6% in national TV ratings, making it the sixth program with the most viewers during that month.

Likewise, "Princess and I," which ended last Friday, figured in the list of most watched programs in January. Its average nationwide rating of 32.5% was good for second place, trailing "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" as the Philippine's most watched TV program.
Starring Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador, "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" garnered an average nationwide audience share of 32.8% last month.
Notably, only one among the top 10 most watched programs in the country in January airs during daytime.
Ranking seventh in the list, "Be Careful With My Heart" earned an average of 26.3% in nationwide rating. The "kilig-serye" starring Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap airs weekdays before "It's Showtime."
Also in the list of top 10 shows in the country are the following ABS-CBN weekend primetime programs: the fantasy anthology "Wansapanataym", which ranked second with an average nationwide rating of 32.5%; the drama anthology "Maalaala Mo Kaya" was fifth with 29.2%; the game show "Kapamilya Deal or No Deal" was eighth with 26.1%; and the kiddie gag show "Goin' Bulilit," 10th with 22.9%.
Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes, more than AGB Nielsen’s 1,980 homes that are only based in urban areas. Kantar Media’s panel represents 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population, while AGB Nielsen reportedly represents only 57% of the Philippine TV viewing population.
