MANILA, Philippines - There's no stopping model-actor Guji Lorenzana from pursuing singer-actress Kaye Abad.

Though Lorenzana has been persistently working to get Abad's "yes" for a year and a half now, the 28-year-old actor said he's willing to do more for his loved one.

"What I learned dito sa Pilipinas, kasi lumaki ako sa States 'di ba, mas matagal 'yung courtship dito. And I guess dahil probinsiyana girl siya, mas matagal 'yung wait. Pero okay naman 'yun eh. I think if you like a girl, dapat mag-invest ka talaga," said Lorenzana.

He added: "Alam niya na gusto ko siya and close kami. Kung meron akong question about showbiz, about life, I always go to her."

Saying that he finally met his ideal girl, the singer-actor also divulged that if fate permits, he wants to settle down with Abad.

"Of course she's ideal girl ko. When I was in the States, I [was] looking for probinsiyana girl. Simple lang siya [Abad]. 'Di gumigimik, focused sa life. I'm gonna keep pursing Kaye. Sana siya na," said Lorenzana.

When asked if he's jealous about Abad's team-up with actor Jason Abalos for "Precious Heart's Romances Presents Allyna",
Lorenzana replied, "Wala naman akong sinasabi sa kanya na bawal or whatever. Hindi naman ako nagseselos kasi in the end, she knows I like her and she likes me too.”

Meantime, Lorenzana said he has no plans yet for Valentine’s Day but wishes to ask Abad out for a date.

“Wala pa akong plans but I’ll invite her out if wala siyang taping. I’ll ask her out, unless, there’s someone who will ask her on a date,” Lorenzana said.

Concentrating on music

During the press conference for the upcoming Voizes in the Rain concert, Lorenzana revealed that he decided to put acting on the back burner to give way to his first love, music.

"This year 2011, I'll concentrate more again sa music and I think I'll come back again sa TV. I got a new manager. Mas maraming project this year kasi we're taking a different course of action,” he said.

The singer-actor, meanwhile, said he’s thrilled to work with the Rainmakers, who made it big in the music scene.

“It’s an honor to work with them kasi matagal na sila sa industry and iba na ‘yung music today. Mas mahirap mag-penetrate sa music scene ngayon, maraming competition,” said Lorenzana.

“It’s a good thing to go back to the basics," he said. "Kailangan ng ibalik ang music sa time when it’s about harmony, about beautiful voices, about being part of the group, musicality. It’s very refreshing to be part of that kasi gusto ko ring makita ng tao na may talent talaga kami kasi, more than what they see only [in] 'ASAP'.”

Lorenzana, along with other ‘Voizboys’ members Jay-R Siaboc, Tom Rodriguez and Nico Antonio, invited fans to watch their upcoming concert on February 18 at the Music Museum.
