MANILA -- The cop drama "Ang Probinsyano" has dominated television ratings for as long as anyone can remember but a new show is threatening to eclipse it as the most watched show in the country. And no, it's not from a rival network.
ABS-CBN's celebrity impersonation contest "Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids" has drawn an average nationwide television audience of 35.2 percent since its premiere last January 7, according to data from Kantar Media, making it the most watched weekend program.
The overall champ, however, is still Coco Martin's "Ang Probinsyano," which garnered 37.2 percent for last month.
The number is more impressive if one considers that it has been on-air since September 2015. It is also on television five times a week.
The strong showing from both shows helped the Kapamilya network maintain its lead over rival GMA-7. Under Kantar Media's measurement, ABS-CBN enjoyed an overall audience average of 44 percent for the past four weeks, eight points higher than that of GMA-7.
Kantar Media's figures are based on nationwide panel size of 2,610 urban and rural homes that represent 100 percent of the country's total television viewing population.
ABS-CBN's dominance for the month of January was also bolstered by the premieres of the fantasy drama "My Dear Heart," as well as "A Love To Last," billed as Bea Alonzo's primetime return. The two shows made its monthly charts debut in 6th and 11th, respectively.

Other things of note is that ABS-CBN’s live telecast of the 65th Miss Universe competition also fared better, scoring a national television rating of 27.4 percent versus GMA-7's 17 percent.
