MANILA - Actress Meryll Soriano has revealed that she has yet to speak with her father, TV host Willie Revillame, since she turned down his offer to manage the family's businesses.

In an interview with ABS-CBN entertainment news site Push, Soriano said that she felt "undeserving" of her father's offer and that she had wanted to finish her studies abroad first.

“We’ve had our differences because he [Revillame] wants me now and I really cannot,” she said. "I want to be deserving of that because it’s such a big responsibility and I really just want to finish school before I take that under my wing."

The actress reportedly has taken a leave of absence from her studies at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, following her father's withdrawal of financial support.

Pertaining to this, Soriano admitted that it might "take time" for them to be able to mend their ties.

Asked on whether there are any truth to rumors that Revillame is willing to make peace with ABS-CBN, Soriano said, “My father naman has always been wise with his decisions so kung ano man ang magiging desisyon niya, I’m going to be happy to know that he’s back with ABS-CBN because they’re a perfectly compatible.”

Soriano is set to join the cast of ABS-CBN's upcoming soap, "Ikaw Lamang," starring Kim Chiu, Coco Martin, Julia Montes and Jake Cuenca.
