MANILA, Philippines -- Gerald Anderson has started work on a TV re-telling of the life story of Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano.
The 23-year-old actor will portray the former Taguig-Pateros congressman in an upcoming episode of the long-running drama anthology "Maalaala Mo Kaya".
On Wednesday, Anderson started filming for the TV biopic.
In a number of scenes, Anderson is seen as Cayetano during his days as a student leader. The character is also seen taking part in a protest against tuition fee increase.
Cayetano was a student at De La Salle-Santiago Zobel School and later University of the Philippine in Diliman, before attending law school at Ateneo de Manila University.
Aside from his upcoming "MMK" episode, Anderson is set to topbill the ABS-CBN drama series "Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin."
The former "Pinoy Big Brother" housemate will also star in an action film by Star Cinema, titled "On the Job".
