MANILA - Actor Xian Lim apologized for poking fun at the "kalokalike" of his leading lady, Kim Chiu, while performing at the Chinese New Year countdown of "Banana Nite" on Thursday.

"I deeply apologize if I caused negative feelings while singing onstage during the Chinese New Years Eve countdown...It was not my intention, and I take full responsibility for my actions. HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR EVERYONE! :-)," Lim said in a series of Twitter posts.

After performing a song number for Chinese-Filipino fans, Lim told Chiu's lookalike, Charmae Viking: "Sino ito? Ano ang ginagawa ni Bea Binene dito?"

Minutes later, Lim received negative comments online.

"Parang high yta si Xian lim doon sa banana nite , yung kalokalike ni kim chiu naging bea binene ? LOL,"‏ Twitter user @badboy2nd said.

"Napanood niyo po ba yung banana nite kagabi? Npaka ungentelman kasi yung gnawa ni xian lim dun sa kalokalike ni kim chiu. @jobertsucaldito," user ‏@iEarlVincent said.

"Trending si Xian Lim because of what he did to Kim Chiu kalokalike sa Banana Nite kanina. So disappointed...," netizen ‏@ChristineCabel said.
