MANILA - A movie topbilled by Vhong Navarro and Ellen Adarna was supposed to start filming this week, according to the actress, but had to be delayed as the TV host continues to recover from a mauling incident.
Adarna revealed the project on the sidelines of an ABS-CBN trade event held Thursday, where her first Kapamilya series in a lead role was formally unveiled.
"The funny thing is, I'm the leading lady of Vhong for his upcoming movie, which should've been shot this week, and then delayed for three weeks after everything that happened," she told ABS-CBN News' Marie Lozano.
Navarro claimed that he was beaten up by at least six men, including businessman Cedric Lee, in an extortion attempt on January 22.
The host accused model Deniece Cornejo of conspiring with Lee to carry out the attack, which left him with serious injuries.
Cornejo accused Navarro of raping her, saying the act was averted when Lee's group "rescued" her and carried out a citizen's arrest on the actor.
Both camps have since filed criminal charges against each other.
