|Former child star Makisig Morales
MANILA, Philippines - After taking a break from show business, former child star Makisig Morales is back via ABS-CBN's upcoming horror series "Oka2kat."
In an interview after a press conference for his upcoming project, Morales admitted that he feels nervous yet excited to be back on TV.
"Masaya po ako, tamang kaba lang po. Halo-halo yung damdamin ko," said Morales, who got his big break in the ABS-CBN television series "Super Inggo."
The young actor believes that like other child stars he had to go through the so-called "awkward stage."
"Siguro tama din po yung nangyari. Kasi dati di ako nakakapag-aral sa dami po talaga ng ginagawa. Lately po ay tuloy tuloy po talaga yung pasok," he said.
Under the direction of Neal del Rosario and Theodore Boborol, "Oka2kat" tells the story of five tweens who embark on an adventure to save their town from an unseen evil.
Aside from Morales, the show also stars Sue Dodd, Jane Oineza, Joshua Colet and Paul Salas as the lead actor.
Dimples Romana, Janus del Prado, DJ Durano, Nanding Josef and Perla Bautista are also part of "Oka2Kat," which will premiere this Saturday (February 4) at 4 p.m. after "Showbiz Inside Report."
"Oka2Kat" is the remake of "Oka Tokat (Takot Ako)," a paranormal drama show on ABS-CBNm which ran from 1997 to 2002. "Oka Tokat" is considered the longest running horror series in the country.
Morales is now in third year high school and plans to take up culinary arts.
He is the brother of young star Maliksi Morales.
