MANILA – BB Gandanghari, formerly known as Rustom Padilla, regrets that he is not part of the movie “Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at mga Anak,” which is headlined by his siblings, nieces and nephews.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News during the premiere night of the movie on Tuesday, Gandanghari said it was very unfortunate that he was in New York when the movie was being shot.
Asked about the role that he was supposed to portray, Gandanghari said: “Hindi maliwanag 'yung ipapagawa nila sa akin that time kasi nga parang hindi ko na in-explore because wala naman ako dito. Nakakahinayang.”
Gandanghari, however, hinted that there will be another movie coming up, which will again be headlined by the Padilla clan.
“Yun ang abangan nila. Ayaw ko muna sabihin ngayon pero that’s very interesting. Lahat mae-excite yata doon,” he said.
Last October, Robin Padilla revealed that he and Gandanghari will be making a film that will tackle the issue of gay rights.
Asked what his role would be, Padilla said: “Unang una, producer ako. Pangalawa, ako ay sundalo na medal of valor kasi gusto kong bigyan ng recognition ang ating Philippine Marines.”
Gandanghari, on the other hand, will be playing the role of a fighter.
Meanwhile, Gandanghari urged everyone to watch “Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at mga Anak.”
“Hindi man ako kasali, I’m very excited for them. Sabi ko nga kay Mariel (Rodriguez, Padilla’s wife) nung pinapanood ko 'yung first two parts, sabi ko nafi-feel ko 'yung ginawa namin before. Hopefully this will be more successful. In any case, let’s just enjoy this film kahit wala ako,” he said.
A joint production of Star Cinema and RCP Productions, "Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at mga Anak" also features Daniel, Kylie, Bela, Matt and RJ Padilla. It is currently showing in theaters nationwide.
