MANILA -- Before the publicized ordeal of actor-host Vhong Navarro allegedly at the hands of a group led by businessman Cedric Lee, several other brawls involving local personalities have made headlines over the years.

The "It's Showtime" mainstay, who is still recovering from serious injuries, claimed that he was a victim of extortion, and that he was blindfolded and tied up before being attacked by at least six men.

Navarro has since taken the matter to court, filing six criminal charges against Lee and seven others, including model Deniece Cornejo.

Unsurprisingly, several versions of the story have come up, with Lee and Cornenjo claiming Navarro had attempted to rape the model. Lee also denied Navarro's accusation that his group "abused" his genitals and had it recorded on video.

The businessman accused Navarro of "twisting the facts," saying his account of the January 22 incident inside a condominium unit in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig has been exaggerated.

But before this controversy involving Navarro, Lee was also embroiled in a similar incident in 2007.

Bunevacz's wife, Jessica Rodriguez, claimed in her affidavit that they were subsequently threatened by Lee's group, supposedly over her husband's "anomalous" handling of the clinic's funds. Rodriguez and Bunevacz denied this, but was later charged with estafa even as they left for the United States. [Read related story]
