What Cedric, Deniece told Jay Ruiz about Vhong incident
MANILA -- Businessman Cedric Lee and Deniece Cornejo, who were identified by actor-host Vhong Navarro as among those involved in the mauling incident in a condominium at the Bonifacio Global City last week, have broken their silence to give their version of the events that happened on January 22.
On Monday, ABS-CBN News' Jay Ruiz interviewed Cornejo and Lee to get their side of the story.
According to Ruiz, Cornejo insisted that Navarro attempted to rape her inside her condominium unit on January 22.
She also said she considers Navarro as a brother and that they have a close relationship.
Cornejo told Ruiz that on January 22, Navarro said he will bring her some food. But when they were inside her unit, Navarro's behavior allegedly changed and then attempted to rape her.
Lee, for his part, said he and his sister, along with another male friend, were on their way to their Cornejo's condominium unit when they heard shouts coming from inside the unit.
Upon entering the unit, Lee told Ruiz that they saw Navarro trying to rape Cornejo, which led them to beat up the actor in defense of their friend.
Ruiz added that Lee denied allegations that he posted videos of Navarro online, saying there are people pretending to be him online and that they are the ones posting the videos and pictures.
The businessman clarified that the video they have of Navarro confessing to the crime was taken at the police precinct, and not inside Cornjeo's condominium unit, contrary to Navarro's claim in his interview with "Buzz ng Bayan" on Sunday.
Both Lee and Cornejo said they reached an agreement with Navarro regarding the case and that the actor allegedly agreed to settle and pay damages.
Cornejo also told Ruiz that she plans to reveal all the details about the incident at a later time.
