MANILA, Philippines – Actress Cristine Reyes has promised herself not to enter into a relationship just yet, two weeks after she and former boyfriend Rayver Cruz confirmed that they have broken up last year.
Since they admitted to the breakup on “The Buzz” two Sundays ago, Reyes is being linked to former boyfriend Dennis Trillo and her “No Other Woman” co-star Derek Ramsay, although Reyes has denied the rumors.
Asked about her numerous so-called suitors, a surprised Reyes replied, “Dami-dami? sino sino? Wow, naman. Ligaw agad di ba pwede friends?”
In a new interview with “The Buzz” that aired on Sunday, Reyes said she isn’t in a rush to enter another relationship.
“Gusto ko muna ngayon mag-focus sa life ko,” she said. “Mas maganda kung makilala mo muna ‘yung tao bago kayo pumasok sa isang relasyon. Mas maganda kung maging magkaibigan muna kayo.”
An obviously exasperated Reyes again reiterated that Ramsay is an old friend, even when she was still with Cruz and Ramsay was with ex-girlfriend Angelica Panganiban.
“Okay kasi siya as a person …wala akong masabing hindi maganda,” Reyes said of Ramsay.
“Promise ko talaga sa sarili ko -- at sana mapanindigan ko talaga -- na wala munang distractions. Kung meron man, sigurog friends lang, pwede naman ‘yon. Pero ‘yung masasabi kong relasyon uli, huwag muna,” said Reyes, who is starring in the upcoming series “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin” with Gerald Anderson.
She also said she wants her next relationship to be more serious and wants the guy to be “ready.”
“I mean, ayoko kasi ‘yung maglalaro-laro lang kayo, na boyfriend-girlfriend na parang wala lang. Gusto ko talaga ‘yung seryoso. So kung merong ganung lalaki na darating, di ba?” she said.
