MANILA, Philippines - Actress Anne Curtis apologized to fellow Kapamilya talent Maja Salvador on Thursday for her controversial remarks on the ABS-CBN noontime show "It's Showtime".

On the January 23 (Wednesday) episode of "It's Showtime", Curtis and the rest of the hosts were making fun of Vice Ganda for flirting with a member of the audience.

Vhong Navarro told the comedian: "Allan, Allandi mo."

Curtis then added: "Uy, hindi. Siya yata si Maja...Majarot ka!" with the word a play on the Tagalog term for wild.

After Curtis' remarks, the term "majarot" became widely used on social media sites such as Twitter, with some netizens using it to make fun of Salvador.

On Thursday, Curtis said during the show's segment "Sine Mo To" that she did not mean to offend anyone especially Salvador, who is facing controversy for allegedly dating actor Gerald Anderson, the ex-boyfriend of her best friend and "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" co-star Kim Chiu.

"Before anything else, bago tayo mag-joke time at mag-play time dito, gusto ko muna mag-publicly apologize kung may na-offend po ako kahapon sa joke ko. Hindi ko naman naging intensyon na directly po na mang-offend," Curtis said.

She added: "It was really towards Vice, it was a joke. Siguro dapat mas naging sensitive po ako kung may mga issues kaya I just want to say sorry, Maja."
