MANILA - After initially refusing to divulge the venue of their wedding, celebrity couple Jericho Rosales and Kim Jones confirmed on Wednesday that they will tie the knot in Boracay.
"It's going to be in May and sa islands of Boracay," Rosales told reporters on the sidelines of a press event held by chocolate brand Toblerone.
The couple shared that they wanted a beach wedding from the start, noting their shared love for the water and the sport of surfing. The two also shared that they purposely chose Boracay so that their surfer friends would attend their wedding.
"We wouldn't have imagined it any other way. Honestly, it just fit. I didn't even think it was a question for us to pick a beach," Jones said.
"But not a surf spot because no one would come to the wedding. Nilayo talaga namin sa beach na may alon," Jericho added.
Jones said that she already has a dress prepared and that arrangements for the wedding has been going smoothly and according to plan.
"There's a few months left. I have the dress and then we have our guest list. Food's ready. We're doing pretty well," Jones was saying before her fiancé cut her --"Ako! Wala pa akong suit. So nanawagan po ako kung sino gustong magsponsor ng suit ko," quipped Rosales.
Both Rosales and Jones admitted that they really tried to make it a small wedding, but being celebrities, the couple found it difficult to do so.
"It really is just our closest friends. Friends and family have been there with us since the beginning of our careers and our relationship also," she said.
"We really tried to make it really small lang pero with all of my friends and her friends sa industry... We're trying to keep it tight," Rosales added.
Asked on how he would fit the honeymoon into his tight schedule, Rosales said: "We're still talking about it. We want to go to Europe. Yung schedule ko ngayon crazy. Malaysia, Philippines, Malaysia. I've been so busy pero kaya naman. After the wedding, we will have time off."
"We'll make time, even if just for a few days," Jones added.
Rosales will star in the upcoming ABS-CBN drama series "The Legal Wife" with Angel Locsin and Maja Salvador, which premieres on Monday, as well as a Malaysian TV series titled "Chef."
