MANILA -- For actor Xian Lim, his latest movie, "Bride for Rent," is more than just a box-office hit as he credited director Mae Cruz for bringing out the best in him.

"I used to be very tense, parang naiilang ako palagi. But she got me to calm down, she got me to relax. I performed better," Lim said in an interview with Boy Abunda on 'Bandila' on Tuesday.

Lim added that he learned a lot about marriage while doing the movie, which earned a reported P160 million in just one week.

"Staying in one house requires a lot of responsibility, requires a lot of love, a lot of patience. Hindi lang siya yung, 'Tara, pakasal tayo,'" said LIm, who is being romantically linked to his leading lady Kim Chiu.

Although he plans to get married when he reaches his 30s or even 40s, Lim explained that it will still depend on when he meets the woman he wants to marry.

"They say that if you're over 18, you've probably met the person you're going to marry. I think nagkasalubong na kami," he said.

When asked about his qualities, the actor, who started as a model, said he likes to believe he is mature and passionate. But he also admitted to being vain and stingy.

He also said Chiu is more predictable yet adventurous compared to him.

Lim also confessed to feeling insecure when people do not recognize him.

"I hear people say, 'Uy, artista yun', 'hindi, hindi yun artista'. They know I'm an actor but they don't know who I am," he said.
