MANILA - The trailer for the highly-anticipated romantic film "Starting Over Again" starring Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga has drawn over a million views, just 4 days after it was uploaded.
The first official trailer, released online by Star Cinema, already has 1,351,511 views as of writing.
The three-minute clip takes viewers on a roller coaster ride of emotions, starting off with a sequence chronicling the young, quirky beginnings of the love story.
The bubbly and fun-filled first part, which saw Gonzaga handcuffing herself to Pascual out of crazed teen love, even hints on a comedic sex scene between the two.
However, the trailer takes a sudden nosedive as Gonzaga, unexplained, decides to leave Pascual and end the relationship, prompting the actor to ask, "Bakit mo ako iniwan?"
They would meet years later, under completely different circumstances, with Gonzaga deeply regretting her decision and Pascual moving on with another woman, played by actress Iza Calzado.
The trailer ends with an intense confrontation, with Pascual demanding an explanation from Gonzaga.
Directed by Olivia M. Lamasan, the film is scheduled to hit theaters on February 12 as part of Star Cinema's 20th anniversary.
The film will also mark the first team up between the two, with Pascual expressing his excitement over the chance to work with Gonzaga.
"She's a very brilliant person, not just as an actress but as a host, as a singer. She's multi-talented, so it's definitely a privilege to be working with her in this film. I'm in awe of her talent, because she's very sensitive as well," Pascual said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
Gonzaga’s last movie was the box-office hit “Four Sisters and A Wedding,” while Pascual’s latest film is the critically-acclaimed “On The Job.”
