MANILA, Philippines – Entertainment columnist Dolly Ann Carvajal, who is the best friend of actor Cesar Montano, denied reports that actress Sunshine Cruz asked her husband to leave their house after she discovered that a number of her gifts are now in the hands of starlet Krista Miller.

Celebrity couple Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Monday, Carvajal admitted it is true that Montano is now staying in a hotel but denied that it’s because Cruz asked him to leave their home.

“It was blown out of proportion. Kasi nagra-rush siya (Montano) ng Alfredo Lim story na may playdate na, February 27. So he has to stay in a hotel doon sa Manila area,” she explained.

“Natiyempo lang siguro na pumutok ang balita. Siguro kailangan din magpalamig. Pero 'yung palayas, knowing Sunshine, siguro hindi naman niya magagawa iyon,” she added.

Saying she has already seen the couple in their “unguarded moments,” Carvajal is hoping that Montano and Cruz could be given time and privacy to resolve this matter.

“Siguro may tampuhan pero not to the extent na maghihiwalay. They've come this far, 12 years [of marriage] and three kids. They've been through worse... Bigyan na lang natin sila ng respeto, privacy to sort things out and in God's time a-answer-in din niya iyan,” she said.

Carvajal said she is certain that “this storm will also come to pass.”

“Natural naman iyon sa mag-asawa. Alam naman natin na si Buboy is playful by nature so minsan nami-misread siguro ng babae ang signals. Tapos si Sunshine, being very emotional, na-provoke siya. I know when the time is right, magsasalita rin sila. But the way that I know them, sa dami nang pinagdaanan nilang bagyo, hindi isang starlet lang ang talagang kayang paghiwalayin sila,” she said.

According to Carvajal, it would be best for people to just wait for their official statement rather than spread lies.

In an exclusive interview with “The Buzz” that aired on Sunday, Alfie Lorenzo, the manager and close friend of Cruz said the actress asked Montano to leave their house after she found out about Miller.

According to Lorenzo, it was the couple's daughters who found out about Miller after they saw a text message from the starlet to their father.

“Yung mga anak nila, 'yung three daughters nila, kasakay ni Cesar sa kotse. Tapos may nag-text, nakita ng mga bata, may babaeng naka-bikini. Tapos ‘yung ending daw (ng text message), ‘Miss you, babes, love you, babes,’ ganun. Kinwento sa nanay,” Lorenzo said.
