MANILA -- Actress Kim Chiu denied that she was disappointed when she didn't get the role of Dyesebel for an upcoming TV remake.
"Ay bakit naman may ganoon? Hindi ko naman kaya 'yung consequence," Chiu said in an interview on "Kris TV" on Wednesday.
While Chiu admitted that it was her childhood dream to be a mermaid, she admitted that she doesn't fit the role. "Hindi naman bagay sa akin. Puro bashing lang ang aabutin ko niyan, 'wag na," she said.
Last week, ABS-CBN announced that "It's Showtime" host Anne Curtis will be playing the iconic mermaid character created by Mars Ravelo.

Meanwhile, Chiu said she is content to make her fans laugh when the romantic comedy "Bride for Rent" hits theaters on Wednesday.
"Magiging komedyante na lang ako," she said. "'Yung movie, feel-good lang at hinahayaan lang kami ni direk na gawin 'yung gusto namin ad-lib lang kami nang ad-lib."
Chiu went on to discuss what her newest film is all about.
"It talks about marriage and relationship, kung paano tumagal, 'yung marriage, 'yung relationship. Kung paano ang mag-boyfriend at girlfriend, na hindi dapat possessive. 'Pag labas nila (viewers) ng moviehouse parang bagong tao na sila," she said.
