MANILA – Hollywood studio Columbia Pictures has released its full movie line-up for 2014, which promises to “to inspire, enlighten and entertain” moviegoers.
The 2014 line-up consists of highly anticipated sequels, action-packed superhero movies, comedy flicks and drama features.
What is it: A remake of the 1987 movie about a half-human, half-robot police officer will hit theaters in early February. Included in the cast are acting veterans Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson, while Hollywood newcomer Joel Kinnaman plays the title role.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
What is it: The web-slinging superhero is back to fight not just one but three super villains. The anticipated sequel to the 2012 blockbuster film will feature an all-star cast led by Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx and Sally Field, among others.
22 Jump Street
What is it: Fresh from the success of "21 Jump Street," Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill will again team up to solve crimes as undercover agents. This time, the duo must stop a crime ring while figuring out if they can ever have a mature relationship with each other.
Deliver Us From Evil

What is it: Eric Bana is a New York police officer who has to solve a series of disturbing cases involving demonic possessions. The action-crime horror film will premiere in July.
What is it: A married couple, played by Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz, makes a sex tape only to find it missing the morning after. The film, which also features popular comedian Jack Black, will open in theaters late July.
No Good Deed
What is it: Academy Award-nominated actress Taraji P. Henson will star as a terrorized mother whose children were abducted by a stranger. The movie also stars Idris Elba and is slated to premiere early September.
Denzel Washington in "The Equalizer"
What is it: A retired intelligence officer turned city vigilante will fight against a Russian crime group after helping a young prostitute. Starring Denzel Washington, Chole Grace Moretz and Melissa Leo, the film is scheduled for a late September release.
When the Game Stands Tall
What is it: Two coaches, played by Jim Caviezel and Michael Chiklis, lead a high school football team to consecutive victories. The movie is based on true events and is set to open in theaters on September.
What is it: Interview tells the story of a talk show host and his producer’s plans to assassinate North Korea’s prime minister. Seth Rogen directs and produces this comedy flick, while James Franco plays the lead role.
What is it: When humans, vampires and zombies turn against each other in a small city, three teenagers will try to put things back to “normal.” The comedy-horror film stars Vanessa Hudgens, Ed Westwick and Bob Odenkirk.
