MANILA – Kris Aquino is the first to admit that her youngest son, James “Bimby” Yap Jr., could prove to be more talented than her as far as acting is concerned.
Talking to host Boy Abunda on Tuesday's episode of "Kris TV," Aquino said it makes her proud that moviegoers see Bimby’s acting potentials in his debut movie “My Little Bossings.”
“True naman kasi 6 lang siya. Like any mother siguro, parang ngayon na-get ko na. Now I realize what pride Mom must have felt each time a show was a success or a movie was a success kasi lagpas langit 'yung thrill,” she said.
Although Bimby lost the Best Child Performer trophy “My Little Bossings” co-star Ryzza Mae Dizon at the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) awards, Aquino said she is glad that her son seems to understand the ropes of showbiz and was even happy for Dizon.
“Kinondition ko kasi anybody would want to win. Nung nalaman ko na best child performer hindi male and female, sabi ko, ‘Bimb for sure it’s going to go to Ryzza. Let’s be happy for her okay, anyway she’s 8 years old. You’re only 6.’ Right away in-escort niya and sabi ko, ‘Are you sad?’ Sabi niya, ‘No mama, it was for Ryzza,’” she narrated.
Meanwhile, Aquino said words are not enough to thank the public who came out to see her son’s debut movie.
“I just want to say thank you po. Pinipili niyo na ako 'yung samahan. Ngayon ko lang na-realize talaga na it’s possible talaga na 'yung kaligayahan mo, it doesn’t come pala talaga from fulfillment sa sarili but it comes from seeing people love your child. Hindi mo mae-explain ang pag-uumapaw ng kaligayahan kapag naramdaman mo na ipinagkaloob yun at niregalo sa anak mo,” she said.
