MANILA – Enrique Gil does not mind that he can’t call Liza Soberano his girlfriend just yet.
For the actor, what matters more is how they actually treat each other.
“They don’t stop us but she’s only 19. Ako 24 so you’ll be the one to understand. But wala naman kailangang label,” he said.
“Sa amin naman, sinasabi ko hindi naman importante 'yung label. It’s how you treat each other. If you treat each other like kasal na kayo, kahit hindi pa kayo kasal, parang ganun ‘di ba?”
While they are not officially together yet, Gil said nothing can’t stop him from expressing how much he loves Soberano.
“Siyempre naman, it’s good to remind people [that you love them]. Masarap din pakinggan 'yun. Pampasaya,” he said.
Soberano, for her part, admitted that Gil has always been "very special" for her. “He is one of the reasons why I am where I am at now. He never fails to amaze me and surprise me with new things,” she said.
The actress, however, believes that getting into a relationship with her onscreen partner will happen “when the right time comes.”
Now that she is 19, Soberano said she has nothing more to wish for herself.
“Whenever I blow my candles on my cake, I usually wish for others. I feel like I have everything I already need and I know that God is always taking care of everything for me. I like to wish for other people din naman. I always wish for my family, my close friends, people that help me to get to where I am,” she said.
For 2017, Soberano and Gil will star in the Valentine offering of Star Cinema “My Ex and Whys.”
Aside from the upcoming movie, the two will also headline another television series.
