Dual role in new series is actress' latest challenge
MANILA, Philippines -- Angelica Panganiban now finds it easier to forgive, having found contentment in her career and personal life.

"Hindi ko na nga maalala," the 26-year-old actress said in a recent interview, when asked if she has already forgiven those who have done her wrong in the past year.
Last year, Panganiban made headlines as the actress went through changes in her personal life. Her breakup with long-time boyfriend Derek Ramsay -- which was confirmed by the actor in May -- was no less controversial than her then-rumored relationship with actor John Lloyd Cruz.
Panganiban and Cruz, both Star Magic talents, confirmed being officially a couple in November, leading up to the release of their first big-screen project together, "24/7 In Love."
"Alam mo 'pag sobra kang masaya, at sobra kang blessed, 'yun 'yung pwede mong ibalik, 'di ba, 'yung forgiveness," Panganiban said.
Serena vs Rebecca
Aside from her relationship with Cruz, the actress sees as a "blessing" her return to primetime television. Panganiban takes on a dual role in "Apoy sa Dagat," which is among the several new shows lined up for ABS-CBN's TV programming in the first quarter of 2013.
Eighteen hours ako on set. So mahirap lang, nakaka-drain talaga siya physically, emotionally, mentally, so ayoko namang mag-suffer 'yung isa sa mga projects na gagawin ko," she said.
In the Kapamilya series, Serena (Panganiban), as a child, drifts off from a ship accident at sea to a fishing village, where she takes on a new name and grows up with her best friend Ruben (Piolo Pascual). As Serena pursues her dreams in the city, she meets Rebecca (also portrayed by Panganiban), with whom she will share the man she loves.
Directed by F.M. Reyes and Nick Olanka, "Apoy sa Dagat" also stars Diether Ocampo, Angel Aquino, Nikki Gil, Empress Schuck and Patrick Garcia.
