MANILA - It was a moment Coco Martin will never forget.

The actor, in an interview with ABS-CBN News, recalled how he fought his way through the thousands that flocked to join the feast in January 2007 just to touch the image of the Black Nazarene.

Martin was shooting a scene for his role in the independent film, "Tirador," directed by Brilliante Mendoza. The film revolves around the annual festival held in Quiapo, Manila.

Martin admitted fearing for his life during that moment as the thousands of devotees jostled each other for a chance to touch the Black Nazarene, which has been believed to bring miracles.

Puwede kang mamatay," he said.

But the actor said he is grateful to the Black Nazarene, explaining that since he managed to touch the image, blessings have yet to stop.

"Mula noong araw na 'yun hanggang ngayon, 'yung blessing na dumadating sa akin, alam ko nanggaling doon kasi 'yun 'yung hiniling ko eh," he said.

Since 2007, Martin has starred in several films, both indie and mainstream, as well as in top-rating TV shows including "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin" and "Juan Dela Cruz."

Sobra-sobra pa," he said.

The actor said that he always tries to find the time to visit Quiapo and thank the Black Nazarene.

He also shared that as long as blessings continue to pour in professionaly, he will not stop working.
