MANILA, Philippines -- Television host Willie Revillame bade goodbye to his primetime show "Wil Time Big Time" last Saturday as he announced that he will be moving to the competitive noontime slot with a new show "Wowowillie."
The television host said "Wowowillie" will premiere on January 26 at 11:30 a.m.. and will compete with ABS-CBN's "It's Showtime" and TAPE's "Eat Bulaga!"
Last November, Revillame told TV audiences that he will make a big announcement on January 5.
"Salamat po sa inyong pagmamahal sa amin sa programang ito, thank you so much. Itong last day natin simula pa lang ito ng bagong programa, magpapaalam po ang 'Wil Time, Big Time' pero magbubukas ang mas magandang programa at mas bibigyan kayo ng tunay na pagmamahal," Revillame said last Saturday.
"Wil Time, Big Time," which started as "Willing Willie," first aired in 2010 after Revillame left ABS-CBN.
The show's name was changed to after "Willing Willie" drew complaints when Revillame allegedly maltreated a 12-year-old contestant.
According to industry sources, the show's ratings were affected by the incident.
