Kris Aquino: Negotiations still ongoing
MANILA – Kris Aquino once again took to social media to thank her supporters for “caring very much” about her future plans amid reports that she has been offered to leave ABS-CBN supposedly to hold a key position at a rival network.
In her personal Instagram account on Sunday, Aquino said she recently heard Mass in a church in London where she got inspired by the priest’s sermon.
“The priest in his sermon to inspire believers during the Feast of the Epiphany quoted Dag Hammarskjöld, UN Secretary General who died in a plane crash in 1961 w/ words to this effect: ‘For everything that has been, THANK YOU. For everything that will happen, YES.’ I felt this was a very strong message for me personally,” she said.
Aquino added she will continue to "believe in God’s plan" for her life this 2014.
“Thank You for caring very much about my future plans. For all those who understand that my decisions in life are most influenced by my sons, thank you,” she said.
The award-winning TV host said she is just "fulfilling a promise" to her mom that she will do everything to ensure the comfort and well-being of eldest son, Joshua.
“She (Cory Aquino) told me that w/ Bimb we could be confident that he could be independent & make a good life for himself. It is for Josh that I must leave behind enough to insure that even when I'm gone he would be financially secure,” she said.
“At only 6 years old, Bimb understands his Kuya's special needs & promised to always share w/ Josh. I have been blessed w/ a career I am passionate about but at the end of the day, my most important mission is to be the best mother I can be,” she added.
Despite this, Aquino maintained that she has yet to make a decision.
“No decision has been made, negotiations are ongoing, I simply explained what's in my heart,” she said in her following post.
“Will enjoy our last few days here in London. Will look forward to watching a couple more musicals, doing some more sight seeing, and experiencing afternoon tea then buying a few more teapots,” she added.
Aquino, whose contract with ABS-CBN reportedly expired in October 2013 and has yet to be renewed, has been in showbiz since 1992.
From a young actress, she made a turn as a popular TV host in 1996 with ABS-CBN's "Today with Kris Aquino."
She went on to host several other programs, including game shows like "Game KNB?", while taking up a number of acting projects. Notably, she was tagged as a "horror movie queen" for her string of blockbuster films in the genre.
Her more recent projects include consecutive judging stints on "Pilipinas Got Talent" across four seasons, and the primetime drama series "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw."
Currently, Aquino hosts the talk and travel program "Kris TV," which airs weekday mornings on ABS-CBN.
