MANILA – The stars of the Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Ang Larawan” are featured in a carpool karaoke singing OPM hits.
In a clip posted on Facebook, Rachel Alejandro, who plays Paula in the film, is seen being picked up by co-star Sandino Martin, who takes on the role of Bitoy Camacho, Paula’s family friend.
The two are later joined by Celeste Legaspi, who plays Donya Loleng, and Dulce, who portrays Donya Irene, as they make their way to various malls where their movie is showing.
While on the road, Alejandro, Martin, Legaspi, and Dulce enjoy singing a number of songs including “Mr. Kupido,” “Basang Basa sa Ulan,” and “Da Coconut Nut.”
"Ang Larawan" is based on the play "A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino" by National Artist for Literature Nick Joaquin, and features music from Ryan Cayabyab and lyrics from Rolando Tinio.
Aside from the abovementioned actors, it also stars Joanna Ampil, Paulo Avelino, Robert Arevalo, Nonie Buencamino, and Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, among others.
It got rave reviews when it premiered at the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival last month, as well as from local critics following its MMFF debut over the Christmas weekend.
